New Delhi, 9th Sept 08- Unitech Machines Limited (UML), India’s leading
engineering company has announced today its joint venture with Nohmi Bosai Limited
(NOHMI) the Japanese pioneer in fire protection systems, to offer comprehensive fire
safety solutions in the Indian market.



The Jointly established entity would be named as Unitech Nohmi Fire Protection
System Private Limited and would be working to establish a comprehensive and secured
fire safety system for buildings across the sectors with its joint expertise in fire
safety consulting, advanced products selling, and turnkey project execution. It
would also support customers’ challenge in minimizing fire risk & damage so
that they can improve their performance on CSR & BCP.



“The JV furthers the Unitech Machines strategic goal of organizing the fire
protection system industry in India on a sound foundation and stabilizes the market
dynamics thereof”, says Mr. VK Chabbra, Chairman Unitech Machines group.
“There is a lack of awareness within the country on the dynamics of an
efficient fire protection system. It is much beyond a mere plumbing activity. The
expertise of both the partners will significantly strengthen the quality of
deliverables to the customers and reduce losses by minimising the turn around time.
We have the capabilities to analyse, evaluate and provide more than mere statutory
guidelines. This JV aspires to revolutionize the Fire Protection System industry for
the Indian market”, he added.



Elaborating on the JV Mr. Hashizume, President of Nohmi Bosai said “Unitech

Fire Safety System industry today needs to be better organized as the companies are
merely following the fire regulation guidelines, which does not fit well with the
complicated and advanced buildings & production facilities today. In this sphere,
there is a huge demand of the CUSTOMIZED

SAFETY DESIGN for different customers, proposing suitable system beyond the fire
regulation requirements.



Unitech Nohmi would be creating new values in fire industry utilizing synergy of
resources from two giants Unitech Machines & Nohmi Bosai, and thus drawing an
eligibility to cater into Industry such as Oil & Gas Refineries, Chemical Plants,
Manufacturing Plants, Airports, Metro, Hotels, Hospitals, Commercial Complex, etc.
Unitech Nohmi comprehensive fire safety will be achieved with three parts of
activities.



1. Analysis / Investigation of fire risk in customers’
facilities & Evaluation / Solution proposal for optimum fire protection system



2. Introducing advanced fire safety products which reduce
customers’ load against fire protection



3. Turnkey project execution of various fire safety systems with
professional management on quality and time



To achieve Unitech Nohmi business objectives, NOHMI provides its high-quality &
unique fire safety products such as NN100 (Clean gas fire suppression system),
Integlex (analog addressable fire alarm system), and SR100 (automatic and integrated
extinguishing system), and shares its engineering know-how in various industry.
Unitech Machines will serve the JV for project execution of comprehensive fire
fighting/ protection system.



The JV will be capitalized at Rs 4.8 Cr, with Unitech Machines owning 49%, Nohmi 51%
shares, Mr. V. K. Chhabra, Group Chairman has been appointed as MD of Unitech Nohmi
Fire Protection System Pvt.Ltd.

The company is also in discussion with NOHMI for new product development suitable
and superior in fire alarm market in India including feasibility of local
manufacturing of some of the equipments utilizing Unitech Machines’
manufacturing capability accumulated in Auto parts production.
